  • New RAM to Fix Cold Boot Problem

    Looking for some RAM to replace the 2x4 G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 CL9-9-9-24 that I moved from my old build to a new a new Z77X-UD5H + 3570K @ 4.4...

It's running great when I get it started... but it's exhibiting 'Cold Boot' issues.

Any suggestions for this board + CPU would be appreciated. (RipJaws X ? XMP ? Timings ?)

    Thanks !

    Hi,

Please try to run "Memtest" to check your memory module, or you can boot up with one memory only to see if any of them is defective.
And i believe the XMP profile will be good enough to support your new system.

Contact our RMA department if the memory test got any problem: [email protected]

Thanks for the reply Matt !

I ran Memtest on it while it was in the other build + it was OK

I dropped back to 4.0 from 4.4 and got rid of the 'Cold Boot' problem. Need to do some more tweaking at 4.4

I'll try to work the OC back up with some new Ripjaws X or Sniper.

Should I stay with PC-12800 (9-9-9-24) or go for something else ?

        Hi,

You could consider about the Sniper series, and i believe 12800(1600Mhz) will be great enough!

Can try to lower the timing and slightly raising DRAM voltage, good luck!
