  • Unlocked AMD CPU = problem with GeForce Experience

Hi. I'm, new here so hello.

I send similar post to Nvidia but I don't think they can do something with this problem.

    I use MB Asrock 970 Extreme4.
I also have Phenom II 960T and can unlock 2 additional cores, but mainboard show procesor name as AMD Unknown Model.
And here we got problem for all users having Nvidia Geforce cards. Couple weeks ago Nvidia gave us tool called GeForce Experience. This tool check our PC configuration and set for us best settings for supported games.
But after unlocking CPU to 6 cores Nvidia GeForce Experience stop working because can't recognize procesor model.
All users that have unlocked CPU and have GeForce card can't use this great app.

This problem could be solved if only MB can recognize those unlocked CPU as Phenoms II X6 series, or matching model after unlock.
Years ago ( if I have good memory that was when Phenoms 1st generation was on sale) unlocked Athlons X2 was recognized as Phenoms X4.

    According to list posted here:
Unlocking Athlon II / Phenom II cores and L3 cache

My Phenom II X4 960T after unlocking should be same as model Phenom II X6 1605T.

So please Asrock if you only can release BIOS that gave us this option please do this.

I checked ASUS MB and they have similar problem. Don't know if other brands have same problem. Maybe some of users can tell us if they MB can change CPU name after unlock.
