office xp error 25003

When trying to install Office XP on Windows XP, I get an error message about halfway through the install. It says
Error 25003: MS Office setup cannot continue because the installation source has been corrupted.
But I know it can't be corrupted because I just installed it a month ago using the same disc.
I have applied sp1 to winXP and that didn't help.
I tried using different serial #'s and that didn't help.
I tried first installing office 2000 and then upgrading to office xp, but that didn't help it either.
Any suggestions?

okay, i found the problem. it really was a problem with the installation files. they had been corrupted after my last install.
