  • Dell / Intel Locking - Can it be broken?

I have a nice system from Dell, but I would like to squeeze just a little more performance out of it.
Is there any way to UNLOCK the Intel i845E board?
I was looking at SoftFSB but it scares me...it's sooooo out of date that for Intel boards only 440LX's show up and that is ancient.

I know that they have a proprietary power supply so just buying another board is out of the question, unless maybe I buy a new PS too?

    Comments?

    P4 2.26Ghz (533FSB)

    80 Gb Seagate 7200Rpm ATA100
    GF4 MX440 64MB DDR

I'm sorry but other than replacin' the motherboard and PSU (if the case is suitable) then that's the only option I know of. ;)

I've never been willin' to try it though.
