As this is on the horizon,
any-one know of any release dates or perfomace specs of the drives,

LSI have already got a S-ATA raid card out, pitty can't bolt any drives onto it ?

I'd wait for Serial ATA II as Serial ATA is still restricted by the PCI bus and won't show any real performance gains till it is removed from it. ;)

Any ideas on when PCIexpress is showing up?
and what is the deal here?
is PCIexpress and hypertransport 2 competeing standards?
      and whats fastest?
already seen hypertransport in some specs, doesnt Nforce2 use it between north and south bridge at 1600mb/sec?
      alot faster than pci 133mb/sec

is PCI express intel, and hypertransport AMD?

btw i sense 2 abreviations crashing into eachother hehe
      HyperTransport and HyperTreading..

the drive is capable of that, but can it deliver with the pci buss caping it at 133mb/sec

Just read some sweet info on PCI-x
          http://www.vr-zone.com/#2743

"PCI-SIG has begun initial work to develop specifications for PCI-X 1066, the successor to the recent PCI-X 266 and PCI-X 533 specifications. The newest standard will allow PC components to exchange data at bandwidths of up to 8.5 gigabytes per second, compared with less than 1 gigabyte per second for current versions."

Every vender that I've seen advertise the Seagate drives lists them as "backordered".
