Is it safe or smart to mix pc2100 and pc2700 memory together?

You can mix and match both without too many hassles. However when you want to try and push your memory upwards of 166MHz the PC2100 stick is going to pull you down.

You can but a lot of motherboards will have issues with it and those that don't will only run as fast as the slowest stick will go although sometimes slightly less. ;)

It's usually good to have the same speed mem. But it will work, don't worry about it blowing up on you lol. :D

Actually, it will run at the speed you set it at in the BIOS ;)
