I'm getting some soon in the next couple of weeks.

Does the light just sit in that pattern completely still? Or can you actually see the lights moving?

no - the lights dont move. The LEDS are actually jsut in the outside frame of the fan.

Here's were one of mine is, on my Alpha PAL8045 HSF, with those cathodes off you can see the fan better, but with them on you can actually see where the fan itself is.

theres anohter down to the bottom right there in front of my two 80gb hdds, and two in my Antec TrueBlue PSU.
