G'day all.
I see that you at tweaktown use SETI.
Ive been a folder for about a year now and have turned in around 3000 points for Tweakers AU.
Its time for a change and I dont know if I will fold for tweakers, but for reasons I dont agree with the SETI cause.
So what Im asking does Tweaktown have any other projects
If not what about starting a Folding
Or better
distributed.net RC5-72 team
Incase you dont know what RC5-72 is
What is RC5-72 exactly? Well, it's a distributed computing project to attempt to crack a 72-bit encryption code by testing every single possible key. With 4,722,366,482,869,645,213,696 different possible combinations, this isn't an easy task. So distributed.net sends out blocks of keys to a very small client program on thousands of computers around the world which test each key to check if it is correct, and sends back the results.
Whats the advantage of RC5-72
There's prize money involved if your computer manages to find the key - $1000 for the participant who finds it, and $1000 for the team. That's US$2000! And the more units you crunch, the more chance you have of finding this key!
Now Its an idea
im just asking for feedback on what you think
cheers nutty
