Inside source gave some new details about nVidia's card, that is due to come out in the second half of next year (2004).

Same source was the one to give pre-release details about the current high-end card - NV30, even before Geforce4 was released.
Details were correct, about 90% of the data about NV30.

This information stands for only as a roadmap, and some of it might still change due to market requirements.
Read More For the NV40 Specs.

This super-high-end 3D graphics accelerator card takes advantage of the latest and most sophisticated 0.13 micron process technology by packing nearly twice the transistors into the same space as the GeForce4 Ti GPU. Combine this sliver of super-powered silicon with radically redesigned boards, special heatsinks and fans and you’ll understand why the Asylum GeForce FX gives hard-core gamers the bragging rights they deserve!
here are som more top specs to dribble over:

CINEFX SHADING ARCHITECTURE
• The most complete implementation of DX 9.0 for maximum compatibility
• Brings cinematic-quality imagery to real-time applications for the first time
• Enables stunning per-pixel effects with industry-leading levels of programmability
128-BIT STUDIO-PRECISION COLOR
• Prevents image defects due to low precision – same precision used by Hollywood studios
• Industry’s best image quality for the most demanding applications

INTELLISAMPLE TECHNOLOGY
• Blistering-fast antialiasing performance
• Adaptive texture filtering
• Fast Z-clear

ADVANCED DISPLAY PIPELINE WITH FULL NVIEW CAPABILITIES
• Dual, 400MHz RAMDACs for display resolutions up to and including [email protected]
• Video Mixing Renderer (VMR) supports multiple video windows with full quality and features in each window
• DVD and HDTV-ready MPEG-2 decoding up to 1920x1080i resolutions
• Support for DVI for compatibility with next-generation flat panel displays with resolutions up to 1600x1200

ROCKET SCIENCE FOR A SYSTEM-LEVEL SOLUTION
• 0.13u process technology for higher levels of integration and higher operating clock speeds
• Copper vias and wiring
• Advanced thermal monitoring and thermal management
• World’s fastest memory with speeds up to 1.0GHz DDR2
• AGP 8X including fast writes and sideband addressing
• Flip-chip BGA packaging.
