I'm sure you guys get asked this a lot, I searched around a bit on this forum, hell I've searched on about 8 forums today, but havn't really found an easy answer to my questions.

First, I've never used anything other than a Windows product but I'm really interested in trying a Linux version.

Couple of questions, what's a really good Linux software I should get for just starting out? One that is accepted by a lot of people as being good, but new user friendly?

Another question, can I have linux set up on a second hard drive and be able to boot into my Linux system when I want and into my Windows system when I want? If so, how do I go about doing this?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thank you,
Michael

I'd suggest ya try Lycoris LX Desktop first as it's very Windowish and then step to Mandrake 9.0 if not satisfied. Other distros get more complicated till ya get to the top with Slackware. ;)
