  • ASUS A7M266 BIOS problems

Hey, I'm not sure but after I updated my BIOS from 1004a to 1005 (from US site), it seemed to increase my temperature by at least 12 degrees celsius! I'm using VCool for montoring and for fan control.

    Temperatures in Celsius:
    With 1004a, idle = 39, usuage = 49
With 1005, idle = 52 , usuage = 62 (yes, VCool starts to beep when i play games)

I'm a newbie so I'm not sure what cpu fan i'm using.

I have a AMD Athlon (model 4) 1.4GB, but I'm reduced it speed to 1.334GB cuz its unstable. I'm going to increase the voltage and run it back at 1.4GB but first i need to solve this temperature problem otherwise it might fry my cpu!

Does any one else have this problem w/ their ASUS A7M266 motherboard?

It may pay you to go and buy a CompuNurse as the Asus monitoring is not the best in the world (sorry the link is a bit old but it's the quickest 1 I could find to show you what it is). :smokin:

Yeah, I noticed that asus monitoring sucks actually. I had A7M266 before, when I upgraded to Gigabyte GA-7DXR the temperature went up by 4-5 degrees. Might have just been a flaw in early BIOS versions that they fixed now, thus temp increase.
