well i installed XP the other day on my home computer...and, hmm..not good, performance wise (i've used it before on a faster/better comp, and yes i like it. that isnt the issue here...)

anywho. i have a celery 433 with 128mb ram(120 after u take out 8 mb for onboard vid :(), and voodoo2 (yes yes i know. well overdue for an upgrade..u give me some money and i'll do it tomorrow :P...that M/b Tweak is givin away would come in very handy as well :)) anywho....as can be expected it doesnt run quite as fast as i would like. moving around menus, opening windows, and the like, its all a bit sluggish... but then i went to play a game of Soldior of Fortune, hmm..Very slow! even if i turn the graphics right down. its still ****! i'm using some 'suspect' drivers for the voodoo (i think they were made by the public or somethin like that? dunno. was tired and pissed off when i installed them last night) i'm gonna try to find some new ones soon. if anyone knows where i can get them, or any other suggestions(dont say "upgrade") or donations -begs- i'd be greatful..
    thx in advance..

Have ya turned off all the "eye candy" effects? If not do so thru the system properties/ advanced/performance then settings and change the settings to "Adjust for best performance" as once this was done my K6-3+450@560 flies. ;)

also, just as a personal thing. i don't recommend XP to anyone with less taht 256MB ram... i just feel that if you want it running real good.. that's a minimum

good idea, :thumb: I do that even with a fast system

I had problems with XP and my voodoo3 card
You probably already checked voodoofiles.com, but that's where I happened upon some 3rd party drivers that fixed my problems.

synth, now go to display props and change it back, so it looks like XP - it still keeps all the fluff off, but looks like XP :D

the driver at voodoofiles.com is the same one i found last night at another site. The other site said it was a 3rd party (made by the public) driver. voodoofiles said it was official, but a beta?? uh huh... anywho..i might try re installing SOF soon. see if that helps
