That particular CPU does not appear on the official ASRock list for this motherboard but I would be surprised if it was not compatible since it is so much like the AMD Athlon II X4 645 3.1 GHz 95 W Propus quad-core CPU that is compatible.
It should work fine. Just make sure you update your motherboard's bios to the newest one.

I have an Asrock ALIVENF6G-VSTA motherboard in my PC and have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ AM2 cpu which I am looking to upgrade.
I know that the motherboard is AM2 but have read it may be able to use AM2+ cpu's and was wondering if that was so? Some web sites said that some boards could use AM3 but I am sceptical about that myself.
If so, would I be able to use this in it AMD CPU Athlon 64 x2 7850 Black Edition Dual Core Processor - Manufacturer code AD785ZWCJ2BGH?

Any help would be gratefull as I am not very clued up PC wise.

    Thank you :)

PC Spec's are as follow's incase that helps :)

    CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ AM2
    Motherboard: Asrock ALIVENF6G-VSTA
    Memory: 4.0GB Kingston DDR2 667mhz (4x 1GB)
    Hard Drives: 250GB S-ATAII 3.0Gb/s
Graphics card: NVidia GeForce 8800GTS 640MB
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Golden Orb II
    PSU: 700w
With an updated motherboard bios. The cpu you're planning on buying will run fine on that board.

AM3 CPU will not work on that board.

    Good luck! :)

    You're welcome.

I have bought from them when they were ewiz.com still. Didnt have any problems at all.
Never bought from them with their new name Superbiiz.com

But the company is still a highly rated online store. Check the store rating here: SuperBiiz / ewiz.com / newbiiz.com - superbiiz.com/ - Reviews, Ratings and Prices at ResellerRatings

A 9.29 out of 10. So buy with confidence!

    Hi,

I see that your post is 2 weeks old. In case you haven't received an answer for your question yet. Let me help you out.

That CPU will work fine with that motherboard. Just update your motherboard to its newest Bios and you will be up and running.

    Hi Stillbrew,

Please make sure you have connected your speakers into the green connection of the sound card.

Also what operating system are you using?
