    it saya connecting to virtual disk service....what that means i have no clue but ill wait

    i have seen that being said on a few sites/forumbs but i dont know how to do it...

    If you find an area that says unallocated space above 950GB (has a black stripe) right click it and select create a new drive. Wizards will help you from that on.

    ok the drive check hascome back....it says that drive (H:) has 2 partitions


    1st par 100mb active, primary partition healthy


    2nd par 931.5GB active GBRAW healthy

    those are the results from check....but the white background is blacked out on the GBRAW like a hazy background....but when i right click theres no create a drive option....

    i just selected to format it to NTFS??? thatwas the only option then i hope i can re-format to FAT32...but its gunna take forever im guessing,

    what is a raw HDD anyway?

    Well, maximum fat 32 partition is 127GB.

    Raw hdd is just a 'disk' and it has no proper file system, although if you have data there you might be able to recover it.

    If you want to switch from using ide as op system drive, I'd suggest you disconnect all but your 1TB drive and cd/dvd-drive and then install windows. And maybe put your motherboard's sata driver on a usb stick memory or any other removable media.

    all i want it for is mass storage its a brand new drive....thats the hurting point

    it still says its formatting so ill let it do its thing and see what the results are....
