Default RAM upgrade on ASROCK N68C-S UUC

    Hello,
I am trying to install a RAM upgarde on an ASROCK N68C-S UCC from 2GB to 4GB. I know I have the right type type of RAM and that it is not the Motherboard is not an issue as when I swap the old chips with the new in different slot it seems to work fine. However when I install all the new RAM chips the computer fails to BOOT to windows. Cant any body help? To I have to change the BIOS maybe?

    Hi,

I just checked the specs of your motherboard.
I have found something very important.

    Dual Channel DDR3/DDR2 memory technology*
    - 2 x DDR3 DIMM slots**
    - Supports DDR3 1600/1333/1066/800 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
    - Max. capacity of system memory: 8GB***
    - 2 x DDR2 DIMM slots
    - Supports DDR2 1066****/800/667/533 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
    - Max. capacity of system memory: 8GB***

This means that your motherboard supports DDR2 and DDR3.
First thing never mix DDR2 and DDR3 together. This will make the pc not boot.

I have one question for you.
Is the 2GB Ram one stick of ram or is it 2x 1GB Sticks.
If its just one stick and the new ram is also one stick and both sticks are DDR3 or DDR2 and not mixed.
    Than they will work fine.
If the 2GB is 2x 1GB sticks than you have already used all the ram/memory slots for that type of ram.
