Default Asrock p67 Extreme 4, issue with sata3 ports

Hi guys, I built my computer over the weekend and everything went smoothly until i tried to hook up my SSD drive and normal HD to the sata3 ports on the p67 extreme mb. There are 4 stat3 ports (white color), however port 0&1 do not seem to be working at all. I also have issues when trying to connect both HD's to the sata3 ports 2&3, for example if i only connect my SSD to port 3 or 4 it is recognized, if i connect my other HD individually to port 3 or 4 it is recognized, however if i try to connect both HD's to port 3&4 it only normally recognizes one of them.

In concern to ports 0&1, am i missing something that i was meant to do or is it possible that these two ports are faulty?

I have a Vertex 2 120gbs, and I have it attached to Port 0, on ASRock Fatal1ty One Professional, and another on a different AsRock Board, the Z68 Extreme 4, no issues yet? But now you have me worried.

I build computers but do not have that exact baord in my shop but I do have an Asrock Z68 Emeteme 4 and there are no problems, so maybe you have to go into the BIOS and see if you have those ports enabled. Did you enable ACHI Mode when you installed the OS?
