Default Z68 Extreme 4, strange sounds when monitor in standby

I just put together a system using the Extreme 4 board with an Intel i7 2600K and 2X4GB G.Skill memory. It's running Win 7 Ultimate 64. I have the screen saver set for 6 minutes and after 20 minutes the monitor is put in standby. The system does not go into standby. As soon as the monitor is off, the system starts making sounds like I'm plugging in a USB device and unplugging it, about every three or four minutes. I've tried changing some of the USB settings for legacy but no luck in stopping the noises. The monitor is plugged into the DVI port on the motherboard, and I don't have a separate video card installed yet. Any thoughts or suggestions?

It sounds like you are losing your video drivers. Check the video card.

I've updated all of the drivers from the ASRock to the latest version. It's making the Windows device connect/ device disconnect sounds. I've had this same monitor on other systems and never had this problem. I'll keep looking.
