Default Dual Channel Mode not working.

Ok I have been working on this issue for awhile now. So the details. Have 890GX Pro3 motherboard. I have a Phenom II 555 Black. I have 8 Gb of 1333 ram (4gig X2) matching pair, 2 1TB SATA 6 hard drives in Raid 0, 400 watt PS, SATA DVD drive. Bios ver. 1.3 latest. Win 7 64bit Ultimate.

So Dual channel mode refuses to work. But the interesting thing is that only half the ram shows up in windows. I can live without dual channel mode, but half my ram is not being used. When I install the full 8 gigs it shows in Windows as 8 Gb Total (3.74 usable). When I install a test PCIE graphics card it shows as 8 Total (3.99 usable). So I thought memory was bad so I popped in some ballstix 1333 2Gb modules but same result.4 GB total (1.99 Gb Usable). Then I installed the 8 Gb (4X2) and 4 Gb (2X2) for a total of 12 Gb. It shows this in the BIOS, but in single channel mode. When I boot to Windows, it shows 12 total 5.99 usable. I have installed the memory correctly and incorrectly just to cover all bases. I think board might be bad but if anyone else has any thoughts please let me know.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Your post leaves a bit of critical information out, what OS are you using? If you are using a 32bit OS, then the useable memory will only be slightly less than 4gb, that is a limitation inherent in 32bit operating systems.

My bad, missed your OS in the first line, ok, its not an OS limitation. Try setting bios to optimum defaults and see what happens.
