Default Fan with 7Volt of ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Pro not work

    AIDA64 Business 1.70 1400
Compare Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P and ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Professional

    I have a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P Board.
    When I to connect a Scythe S-Flex SFF21D with 7Volt
on the Board AIDA indicates correctly ca.600 rpm!
When I to connect the Scythe S-Flex on the Motherboard from ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Pro
AIDA indicates nothing at all unter 7 Volt Fan (by 12 Volt indicates correctly rpm).
    What is here the Problem?
Is this to find by ASRock or by AIDA64?
    Can help me?

Which fan headers are you connecting the yellow sense wire to on each motherboard?
Have you run HWMonitor or SpeedFan to confirm the reported fan speeds on each motherboard?
Have you tried using SpeedFan to control the speed of selected fans?

I have six S-Flex S21F fans (1600 rpm max) and they undervolt nicely with a quality fan controller.

Your english isnt very good but .,

12v for fans is np ,that is the default supply.
5v for fans isnt any problem either, what it comes down to is using the 5v molex wire.
7v is more difficukt and may provide feedback problems. It involves combining the 5v+ and 12v+ outputs.
Why are you trying for 7v?
There is no default 7v fan power supply on Asrock or Gigabyte.
fans running at 600rpm dont do anything unless they are large like 140mm + ,due to inertia etc.
120mm probably need 800rpm minimum to move 30-40 cfm .no matter how good the design. Then would need say 1000 rpm to shift a reasonable quantity of air.

    Actually what is your question?
I have a gigabyte ep 45 board and a asrock p67 extreme board ,Ive no idea what information you want from your post tho.
Are you asking is a 7v supply doable on a 120 mm fan,/
    Yes it is
Will a 120mm fan rotating at 600 rpm shift much air?.. no it wont.

    Sorry for my english ;-)
    I have a new Motherboard,the ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Pro.
I have on the Board 3x Fans.
When i will see the Temperature and the rpm
    than i use AIDA64.
My old Gigabyte Bord (with AIDA64)showed correctly rpm on.
The ASRock Board (with AIDA64) not!
    You understand me?
PS.My new PC is a silent PC.
By 7V= 600rpm is the Scythe Fan silent for me.
All rpms to the UEFI (BIOS) from ASRock apparitional correctly.
    Why cannot AIDA64?
    Thats wars my Question...

    We understand your question.
I don't know why your ASRock and AIDA64 have a problem.
It might not be a problem if you use a good fan controller.
Your S-Flex fan is rated 8.7 dba at 800 rpm, do you really need to under-volt your fan for quiet(er) operation?
Hopefully one of the ASRock tech support people can provide you with a solution.

Fan with 7Volt of ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Pro not work-test-jpg
    ^Old screenshot from my B2 board.^

Without knowing the component types and connection specifics and whether u are using speed regulation on the 7v:

Personally I wouldnt bother messing around with 5v and 7v supply to fans directly from motherboard headers.Molex connections (direct from the psu) I have no problem with, even tho they are not officially supported either.

1.you run it on 7v and then it operates at 600 rpm on your gigabyte board and AIDA is able to read the board (which is where its input comes from) and see the fan is running at 600rpm

2.You run it on 7v on the asrock board and it is also running at 600 rpm and the board is able to read that speed(does it show in axtu?) but AIDA is not showing a rotation speed for the fan.

    Why?

Could be that AIDA doesnt read Asrock board bios/sensors with fans running on 7v.Could be that AIDA doesnt read rotation speeds with fans running on 7v on p67 boards in general.

Did you try running the fan on a 12v header and reducing the speed that way?

nb .I had typed this while PJ was typing his response .and yes I didnt understand the q in your original post,or what the problem was.It seems to be simply that AiDA wont read the rpm of a fan running on 7v on your asrock board .I wouldnt think its supposed to and that u were just lucky u got a readout with it before.
ie I wouldnt expect Asrock or AIDA to be working hard on a "fix".

Other than that ,if you are happy with the fan running at 600rpm as shown by asrock and your psu is happy to supply the 7v why worry that AIDA cant read it.
If its a constant 7v supply and you like to use it the speed should be the same on any machine, especially if you are using the same psu ,within a few rpm.

Oh btw AIDA does read all the rotation speeds of the fans I have connected to my mbrd 4x120mm of different types, but they all run on 12vand the lowest rotation speed I can get if I need to is 800rpm.

Your fan on 12 vI dont know why not hook it up and check.

The gigabyte board doesnt allow you to set a rotation speed for fans running on 12v ,the asrock board does .
There are 6 fan headers on the board .
3 of them are pwm cpu temperature regulated for fan rotation speed

The 2 you would probably be interested in are chassis fan 2 and chassis fan 3 headers .

    Thank you
    @kick
    @profJim !
Here is a answer from AIDA64 Support (Budapest-Hungary):
"Thank you, that's what we were looking for.
But I'm afraid your motherboard is one of those ASRock boards that use a special GPIO-based fan muxing.
It effectively means only the BIOS Setup and ASRock's own Windows utility (F-Stream)
can measure fan RPM for the muxed fan header called "CPU Fan2".
You need to connect your fan to another fan header to let AIDA64 read the fan speed."

To kick and profJim : Thank you again for distinguished and professionale advice!!!

    Kind Regards
