    Post Z68 Extreme Overclocking probs

    Hi all,

I recently gutted my 4 year old pc and replaced the motherboard, ram, cpu and graphics and finally got a chance to build it yesterday. Build went fine but I'm having trouble overclocking the cpu. Here are my specs:

Asrock Z68 Extreme4 - 1.40A bios (1.40 still had same problem, upgraded to see if it solved prob but it didn't)
    Core i5 2500k
    Cooler Master Hyper 212+ heatsink
    Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB 1600mhz CL9
    XFX 6950 2GB
    Samsung F1 1tb
    Corsair HX620 psu

I can get to 43 multiplier no problem and the auto voltage on the cpu is at about 1.25 under load (55 degrees), but as soon as I try to use a 44 multiplier or higher I have problems. The pc won't boot, the LED display on the MB stops at 70 and I get no picture on my monitor. Tried changing many of the settings, manual voltages, in UEFI but still no luck.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Well check out the thread sec ill link it in a min. Asrock Z68 Pro 3 Overclock Help

    for 4.2Ghz
Same q's, are u using the auto overclock and what exactly are u getting for offset v .use cpuz to make sure u arent getting speed stepping under load, I mean that the cpu doesnt clock down to say 4.0 or 3.9.
If its the auto overclock u are trying for 4.4 use llc 3.. altho I heard z68 boards have 10 llc levels? try 6 if thats the case or increase the offset V ,if its using .030v for 4.2 try say 0.50v in bios for 4.4.
Temperature information at full load on the 4.2 4.3 would be good too.
Dont clock the memory, yet anyway, what v is it auto applying for dram?
