    MB - Asrock Extreme4 Z68
    CPU - Intel 2500k 1155
    RAM - RipjawX 8GB
    PSU - Corsiar 750TXv2
Cooling - H50 Corsair - Push Pull setup

I have my Asrock Extreme4 set to 4.6Ghz profile. Not sure what the issue is here since I never seen my temps go pass 74C degrees.

Any ideas on what the issue is here?

    thanks

I was running my Z68 Extreme 4 at 4.4 stable and had 4.5 running stability tests without a problem but when I played COD BO I got a freeze. SO ... went back to 4.4GHZ preset and I'm fine. The 4.5 setting was manual and the voltages probably needed increased. Be happy at 4.4. My 2500k is stock 3300/turbo 3700 so I'm at a minimum 700Mhz over the turbo and my machine is rock solid at 4.4GHZ. No need to push further. These chips are overclocking MONSTERS. My AMD chips never overclocked that far over stock and were rock solid.

I am using the auto. Perhaps I'm too lazy to tweak it further. I set the 4.5 manually because the next higher auto setting is 4.6. Don't get me wrong, I can boot into windows 7-64 Home premium fine even at 4.8. It's just when I'm in a game such as COD BO for awhile that I got the BSOD if I go above 4.4. (I'll try the 4.6 auto setting later) Not a single problem if I run 4.4 auto.

I have run Crysis2 flat out max, Metro2033 max etc without a problem. I would rather have a super stable Overclock for everything than to brag that "I can run my 2500k at 4.8!" eventhough you might get a BSOD during a game.

I can say it runs solid at 4.4 without anything other than simple auto BIOS settings.

In my book that's great for a chip that stock is 3.3/3.7 turbo.

What version of Windows are you running? Is your power selection set to maximum? Sounds like you might have a faulty memory chip.
