Default Help Needed Bad Bios Flash

    Hey there,

I need some serious help or advise. I am a newbie to this forum, so be gentle.

I was recent bored one at home, so i thought let me update my bios on my ASRock AliveNF5SLI-1394.

i thought it was going all good, little did i know it did. I rebooted my computer.

and then when it happened my computer does display anything, nothing at all, just a black screen.

So im stuck. my computer is now dead.

i have reserched on the internet that with some boards you can recover your self from a problem like, but i dont know how to. I read in the manual if you get a bad bios flash, the motherboard will need to be serviced.

Now if i carnt recover from this, i will need to buy a new motherboard, any recommendations I have amd phenom quad core 9.2 or something i think.

    2x1gb pc2-5300 ddr2 sdram.

So know even sure which kind of board i will need, preferably a cheap one, i like in uk, so i dont want to pay over the odds.

But i hope somebody out there can help with recoverying my bios.

    thank You

    dal.

does that board support asrock instant flash utility? and have you also tried removing the power plug from the psu and pulling out the cmos battery for like 5 minutes to reset the bios?

i have removed the cmos for like a hour or even a day, and power lead but still nothing.

and no the board does not support the instant flash utility.

i dont think there is anyway for to get around this, looks like i will probs have to buy a new board but i did want to avoid it.

    The socketed cmos is handy.
I kept the cmos from my old b2 p67 board when it was "recalled" for the sandy fix.It should be the same as my b3 replacement if I ever mess up on flashing bios.
