    Dear gammerx,

    970 Extreme4 can support 4GB memory.

    Due to we don't test G.Skill 4GB memory with 970 Extreme4, there isn't G.Skill 4GB memory in 970 Extreme4 memory support list.

Could you provide the detail model name of your G.Skill 4GB memory for us?
If we have the memory, we will test the memory with 970 Extreme4 for you.

    Thanks for your support!

It isn't in the memory support list. I am ordering one of the supported modules from newegg tomorrow. I couldn't pinpoint the problem but I think this is it

    Dear gammerx,

Due to we don't have the memory, we cannot test the memory with 970 Extreme4 for you.

After you test the memory, please kindly contact us if you have some questions.

    Thanks for your support.

I ordered new ram that is on the QVL supported list. Hopefully this works. Either the ram i had was not supported, the ram was DOA or the mobo isn't functioning properly. Will let you know~

    Yeah its G.SKill ram 2x4gb ddr3 1333 ripjaw. model ends in 8GBRL

So I retested everything. Sockets A1 and A2 don't work but if I have 1 stick in B1 or B2 it works (both sticks worked in both Bs but not in As)

Is the RAM controller the mobo or CPU? Obviously the A1 and A2 slots are defective so I am thinking its the motherboard. Also when I am in the BIOS for like 20 seconds I get the debug code "0d" and it freezes so I have to restart.

    Dear gammerx,

Please kindly load BIOS default settings to check whether the symptom still occur.

If your memory still cannot work at DDR_A1 and DDR_A2 slot, please kindly contact your local dealer to check your system.
    Thanks!

I get home and load up my computer to checkout vindictus. I
run it fine at max settings with 60+ fps. After I closed it, I get BSOD a few
seconds later. I turn it back on and notice one of my fans is turning on and
off. So I turn my comp off and replug the fan. While it was open, I switched my
RAM sticks to see if the other one worked. Loaded up my comp and BAM
    BSOD.

I also got the error 54 so I switch the RAM back and think that one
of the RAM sticks is faulty while the one i have been using is just fine. I turn
windows back on and I get BSOD again. I am kinda freaking out now. So I restart,
and I get a system error, it says that windows cant load. Apparently my HDD
somehow got corrupted? Or my OS install got corrupted? So after trying memory
tests, system repairs, recoveries, nothing worked. Currently I am doing a clean
install of windows. What is going on?!?! I can't seem to understand why any of
this is happening. I think I will RMA the mobo and RAM soon.

Everything was working fine last night. I was instaling windows updates before I went to sleep, The screen froze at 2/3. I restart and the computer crashes, gets BSOD or error 54 when i try. Will RMA both RAM and motherboard today, this is really frustrating for a first time builder.
