    Default ASRock Extreme 4 990fx New Build

    I just got all of my gear for my new build and I immediately threw it together. I am having a problem pasting POST(of course). I am getting C5 and 10 as error codes. Did I possibly get a bad processor?

    alrighty, figured out it was my ram causing it to be in code 10 or c5, depending on it's mood. i'm running 2 pairs of 8GB G.Skill Ripjaw X F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM. If I take out the two pieces of RAM and put it in slots B1 and B2, it actually loads to BIOS. If i put the paired stick in A1 or A2, it goes back to C5 error code. I had to manually change my voltages and timing to get it to read as DDR3-1600, but it worked. Any clues on what else I need to do, to get the dual channel working?

    How did you get it to post with 1600MHz ? I'm having an issue right now with this board and my pair of F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO (G.Skill) there set manually to there specs other then the MHz, other wise I wont post due to that setting. An yes this ram in on the supported ram list on ASRocks site.

    Settings that work:

    CAS = 7
    RAS to CAS 8
    RAS to Pre = 7
    TRAS =24
    TRC = 40
    CR = 2T
    MHz = (defaults to 1333MHz)
    AMD Phenom II X4 955BE @ 3.7GHz (Stable)
    Zalaman CNPS10X Performa CPU cooler with 2 120mm Thermaltake Blue LED Smart Fans
    4GB G.Skill Cas 7 1600MHz
    GigaByte HD4890OC 1GB
