Default 870 Extreme 3 Bulldozer Support?

Does anyone know if a bios is forthcoming for the board?

One of the best boards I have ever bought, I don't want to ditch it yet.

I have "890GX Extreme4" and love it. Me and others like you are worry about asrock's bios support for bulldozer series:

    http://forums.tweaktown.com/asrock/4...date-will.html

But unfortunately it seems they won't offer bios update:

    ASRock AM3+

AMD kept AM3+ socket compatible with AM3. Reading the above page, all improvements are about mechanics, heat, noise, and power; all are trivial. Anyhow, Asrock doesn't do the easy work of making a new bios: the basic support which other manufacturers offered! Sorry!
If they don't update, we are left with two options: 1-Buy a new AM3+ motherboard, 2-Keep our current CPU!
If so, I personally choose the later and stay with my own Athlon II processor.

Somehow yes, but AM3(+) is on AMD's roadmap until 2014:

Pildriver for sure, but as for the rest? Backward compatibility is fiction and the most serious flaw that AMD struggling for so many years now. It's because of that they can't make huge performance leap.

Other thing about supporting BD on current AM3 mobos is power usage. AM3 provides 110A from the socket and AM3+ 145A. BD can suck all that Ampps especially when OC'ed.

A wise owner of an AM3 MB won't select higher power consuming models even if exist on manufacturer's CPU support list; Even then, won't overclock. Current FX processors have not more wattage than current Phenoms. 145A is a provision for future.
Lack of support for Bulldozer is not a sorrow now; Because Bulldozer has not the power of a bulldozer, it has the speed of a bulldozer! However, this does not justify Asrock's lack of support and responsibility for their customers.
