    Default Asrock 990fx / AMD FX-8150 / Gskill 1866 ram posting issue

    Heya! heres some hardware specifics.

    Asrock Fatal1ty 990FX
    AMD FX-1850
    Gskill Sniper Series 16g 1866mhz
    Mushkin 1000w gold cert PSU

Not sure if you need anymore hardware info than that...

Ive seem to run into a few problems on booting with 1.3 bios.

    1) Since this bios my fans start up at full speed for like 5 seconds before anything even happens, then they drop down and the system boots. It only does this when I turn the computer back on from being off.

    2) It seems with legacy USB enabled my mouse and keyboard autoscroll down as well as the caps lock button keeps blinking like its stuck on scroll down. it comes stock like this so it was a pain turning them off trying to keystroke 3 commands with 2 keyboards to disable it before scrolling to the bottom again XD. After disabled I was able to adjust stuff using the oldschool keyboard input but my usb keyboard/mouse were no longer functional. Atleast I can adjust stuff though right!

    3) I'm using 16gb kit of GSkill Sniper 1866 mhz 4x4gig. it starts auto at 1600 no problem and posts, but if i try to use suggested timings of 9-10-9-28 at 1866mhz It no longer boots and after the 3rd time they're reset to 1333. Ive tried changing it to 2t still nothing. I havent tried standard JEDEC timings for 1866 either but Id like to use the ram I bought at the specified timings hopefully ;p

Is there a more updated beta bios that will solve any of these? Any help in some direction would be appreciated!

I have yet to change anything from stock on voltages for anything other than RAM which I set to 1.5. So everything is pretty much stock. Trying to get the RAM right before OC'ing anything else at all and I know the hardware I'm using is still new so updates might be needed. How strong is this boards fsb? Ive always been edgy about boosting it too much because I've heard bad things but maybe it was specific to the 2 older boards I worked with ^^

you might need more imc or northbridge voltage with the amount of memory, sorry but im a noob when it comes to amd systems but someone who knows more might comment further, with 16gb @1866 you will need more voltage for sure

Ok well it solved the problem with my keyboard and mouse not functioning in the UEFI almost entirely (i noticed if you go to set timings manually it still does the constant scrolling of numbers if you backspace and input one number).

It boots up at 1866 as well at 2t, but not 1t. From what I understand its supposed to run at 1t I could be mistaken though (I did see someone else running 1t with almost same hardware on overclockers forums)

Now heres the major problem - I almost cant get into windows at all. Plus it hangs randomly before even booting into windows. heres the blue screen error I can give ya.

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: c0000221
    BCP1: FFFFF8A00009F960
    BCP2: 0000000000000000
    BCP3: 0000000000000000
    BCP4: 0000000000000000
    OS Version: 6_1_7601
    Service Pack: 1_0
    Product: 768_1

Im running at 1600 again with timings set to auto and Im fine booting in so atleast I can still use it XD

I've had a terrible whine and I thought it was the gpu amd 6950.. I turned off aero theme it stops until I moved the mouse(on desktop)or any workload it stops buzzing too(like graphically intensive games). turns out it was the power management settings in BIOS. Tried RAM settings again with this disabled but still no luck
