Default BIOS "Instant Flash" button is bugged!!

    P67 Fatal1ty Pro

I want to update to the latest BIOS version (2.00) but when I click "Instant Flash", a dialog box with 2 rectangle characters pops up, and all I can do is close the dialog and go back to the main screen.

    Any idea what's going on??

PS- the USB key (FAT-32) has the BIOS file I downloaded (P67PE2.P00) which is 8.00mb.

*EDIT: I also tried going the bootable USB method. Created a Windows 7 Bootable USB, put the P67PE20.EXE file inside it, booted from the USB, went to the command prompt in the win7 installation screen, and executed the file. It gave an error, saying the EXE file is incompatible with my 64 bit system since it's meant for 32 bit computers.

format the drive as FAT ( not fat 32 ) with a cluster size of less then 1024
and never flash from within windows if you can help it

    Thanks onemoar,

I managed to get around the problem by returning BIOS to default settings, which enabled the Fatal1ty splash screen instead of the POST message. The splash screen and Asrock tech support told me to press "F6" for instant flash, which worked after a long delay.

The "Instant Flash" button does not work from within the BIOS menu itself. Only via F6.
