    Default ASRock Z68 PRO3 and BSOD(error 0x124)

So, deal with me on this, as its my first system with UEFI. I can boot into UEFI or non UEFI Windows 7 install, but as soon as it starts copying files to the HDD, i get the BSOD, with the stop code: 0x000000124. I cannot get past this. PLEASE help! This is a upgrade build and the RAM, CPU, and MOBO are all brand new(replacing: Core2Quad QX9650, 4gb DDR2, ASUS P5E.)

    System Specs:
    8gb G.Skill DDR3-1333Mhz
    SIGMA 1000w PSU
250gb MAXTOR OS drive, 2x 500gb WD blue
    Nvidia GTX560ti
    Intel Core i5-2500
ASRock Z68 Pro3(updated to the latest UEFI/Firmware/BIOS whatever)

I need to get this back up and running as its my main PC. I don't like using my laptop...

124 error is not enough qpi or imc voltage(integrated memory controller) ,try setting it to 1.10v you wont need alot

I don't see a option for QPI or IMC on here, under CPU or DRAM.
    I have under CPU:
    CPU Core Voltage(set to 1.160v),
    CPU Load-Line Calibration(set to level 5),
    IGPU Voltage(set to +0.000v,
    DRAM Voltage(set to 1.575v),
    PCH Voltage(set to 1.059),
    CPU PLL Voltage(set to 1.794v),
    VTT Voltage(set to 1.057v),
    VCCSA Voltage(set to 0.925v).

These are the only voltages I see that I can change, and they are set to defaults right now. Any advice?

VTT Voltage(set to 1.057v), thats it,depends on mb make as they label it different but its the same across all boards,i would set it to 1.08v if that fails set to 1.10v,manual will be better, more accurate than auto

Well, I got it to install Windows, but I am still getting 0x124 BSOD randomly. The first time was when I unplugged a flash drive.
I have VTT set to 1.15 right now. I'm wondering if I should set it to 1.5v(the rating listed on my G.Skill ram sticks.... Like I said, I'm rather new to Core i# series... Any advice?

No,its a different setting for your ram, DRAM is for your ram which according to above you said was set to 1.575v which will be fine,VTT is purely for the integrated memory controller built into the cpu,the more ram, higher oc and faster ram speed/timings the more VTT voltage you will need, but sandybridge cpu's dont like more than 1.2v for vtt so i wouldnt go higher than that, try with 1.18v and see if it improves

what cpu voltage is auto using? as i think on those boards 124 error can be not enough cpu voltage too

Ive got VTT at 1.150v and it seems to be more stable. Its auto set the CPU Core Voltage at 1.224v Should I change to too?

Edit: Yeah, I installed my gfx card, and started to install the Nvidia drivers, and got the 0x124 again. I also forgot to mention I have a Intel Turbo Ram card in the PCIe 1x slot(forgot all about that little bugger.)

i think cpu will be ok,you could add a tiny bit in voltage offset for your cpu, +0.0500v might help,or try with 1.18v vtt voltage,i dont think the revo drive will affect anything

try that if that doesnt help it could be a bios issue,

What one is gonna be the Voltage Offset?

I did change the VTT to 1.18v and I actually got the Nvidia drivers to install at 1.18v, but I'm still worried about stability. Knowing what option is the voltage offset is for future reference will be good if I come across more issues.

I really appreciate your help too. I was about ready to RMA the board...

it should say somewhere in the bios cpu voltage offset, just set to +0.0500v this will add 0.0500v to your cpu voltage at load, cpu will still downclock at idle,it should be in the bios somewhere, its just a voltage or setting thats off i dont think its mb fault, alot have been having issues but adding a tiny amount of cpu voltage seems to fix it or bit more vtt until a better bios version is released
