    Default i7-2700k support

I am purchasing an i7-2700k processor and the ASRock Z68 Pro3-M motherboard.
On the ASRock support page it says that bios version 1.5 is required to support this processor.
    ASRock > Products > Z68 Pro3-M > CPU Support List

I understand you need to start the system up to update the bios. If I get a bios version earlier than 1.5 will I be able to upgrade the bios while the 2700k processor is attached, or will I be unable to update the bios because I don't have a supported processor?

    Thanks

Well if your buying a new mbrd chack it has the bios you need on the dvd,if it doesnt, get em to supply it.
    or:

Think in terms of : you can fire up the pc with a celeron or pentium 1155.
Hence you can update the bios without going into the os..

If the pc wont boot up in basic form with yur cpu to at least dload the bios you should be able to get it loaded onto a usb stick in your local cafe or get it direct from asrock.

So are you saying that I will not be able to update the bios without obtaining a second already supported CPU?

I am not concerned about obtaining the bios, just applying the update.
    Thanks

usually you will need an older chip like the 2500 or 2600k then flash to latest bios and then install the 2700k,you might be able to get into the bios with the 2700k if so then just update the bios to the latest one,its basically the same chip as the 2600k so i cant see there being any problems
