Default LED problem on Extreme3 Gen3

I just built a system using the Extreme3 Gen3 MB. Everything seems to be working fine except for the power LED behavior. From the manual:

    PLED (System Power LED):</SPAN>
Connect to the power status indicator on the chassis front panel. The LED </SPAN>is on when the system is operating. The LED keeps blinking when the system is in S1 sleep state. The LED is off when the system is in S3/S4 sleep state or powered off (S5).</SPAN>

However, the PLED is blinking while the system is in S3 sleep state. Anyone know why this would happen and is there any way to fix this (except jury rigging a connection between +5V and the LED)?

Maybe I should ask the question differently.

Is the front panel LED supposed to blink in S3 standby? Am I misreading the manual?

Your user manual says the same thing in two different places and your are not misreading the manual.
Possible causes? Design change and the manual is now incorrect.
In the manual, the 3-pin PLED1 connector has two positive (+) pins and one negative (-) pin.
How many wires are used by the case's power LED cable?
If there are only two case wires, see if the LED light works differently by temporarily connecting the positive LED wire to the other positive PLED1 pin.
