Disable your on-board video and see if that works. If you are going to use multiple display use your 7970, is there a reason why you are using your on-board VGA? Your new 7970 should be able to handle anything you throw at it!

no i don't use onboard graphics. I have already try to disabled onboard graphics without solve issue. Is possible a incompatibility issue? A faulty video card or motherboard? With my "old" gtx580 all work perfectly without problems. Sometimes it seems that
my motherboard doesn't recognize the discrete video card, switching to the integrated..

What PCIe slot do you have your video card in? PCIe 1 or PCIe 2? Switch to either one and see if you still get the issue make sure you go into bios and tell it to use your card and not the on-board one.

Did you uninstall the Nvidia drivers?
If yes, did you then boot into safe mode and run Driver Sweeper to remove any leftover Nvidia files?
With your power supply unplugged from the electrical outlet, check to see if the video card is fully seated by gently pulling away from the pci-e slot.
You can also try cleaning the video card's electrical slot contacts with 91% pure rubbing alcohol.

LC Power Hyperion 700W. It work perfectly with geforce gtx580. 7970 require less energy.

I think that is a incompatibility issue between radeon HD7970 and Asrock Extreme 7 Mainboard. I hope it comes out as soon an update of the bios..

I have try also to clean electrical contacts, without results. The problem occurs before loading the operating system, so drivers do not affect the situation.

Unfortunately not, but tomorrow I will receive Asus P8Z68 motherboard and I can try. You think could be a fault of my mb or video card?

I also found another post in which they speak of a problem very similar to my...http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?p=21040392
