    Default Freeze with Asrock Z68 pro3 gen3

    I have the latest bios.
    I made an upgrade from a Phenom 2 x4 940BE to a Intel 2500k.
Power Supply: OCZ Modxtream pro 600w
    MB:Asrock z68 pro3 gen3
    CPU: Intel i5 2500k
    Heatsink:HR-02 Macho
    Ram:DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws-X F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL 2133MHz 8GB (2x4GB) CL11
Video Card: Inno3d 560TI iChill Herculez
    SSD: Crucial M4 256gb
HDD: 4 varius HD @ 7200rpm (disconnected ATM)

    Problem:
The PC its fresh format with newest bios, no OC, soundcard and integrated videocard disabled.
When i do a windows performance index the PC freeze (no bsd, no reboot), sometimes when it test the DX10, sometimes when test the cpu, and sometime when test the optimization for the encoding of WMP.
When it appened a low buzzing sound comes from the speaker so i disabled the sound card from the efi.
In event viewer no info apart the "The sistem was reeboted without a normal shutdown"
I tested the CPU and ram with prime95 for an hour and intel burning test with a loop of 10 times, no problem and temperature always under the 55C.
BUT When i test the GPU with furmark burn in test in a random time between 1-3 minute the pc freeze in the same manner. The temperature of the GPU when crashed was under 60C.
I tried to uninstall the video driver, and with the standard VGA driver the WPI finished, but it skipped the DX test.
I updated the DX with no result.
    I did a clear CMOS.
I try to change power supply with the one from my sister which is the same model with no result.

Also when i force the pc to stop during the freeze holding the power button, if i dont wait at least 30 secondo to start the pc i have the following situation:
Pc start but nothing appear on the screen, no boot sound code.
Pc start to bootloop with black screen.
    Pc start normally.
In the first 2 case to resolve i must leave the pc off for a minute.

I dont have a more powerfull power supply to test, but if my PS will work with a Phenom2 with a TDP of 140W, 5 HD and 2 DVD i dont believe that it cant work with a intel with a TDP of 95W, a single SSD and nothing else.
    What can be the problem?

Did you do a full win7 install with your new system?
Can you borrow a different brand of power supply to test with?
Can you borrow a different video card to test with?

It's rare, but sometimes a specific power supply might not be fully compatible with some motherboards.

    Not the exact problem no.
Theres a lot of things to try.

    How about the installation?
Did you install windows with just the ssd connected ?
What asrock board utilities do you have installed?
like x fast usb /fast boot etc?

Did you have a gx card clocking program installed, like the one that came with the card, whether you were running it clocked or not.
Set any card clocking programs to default settings, then uninstall them.

You may have set everything to basic already and removed all extra drivers ,if so nps

An option also would be to underclock the memory to say 1800 mhz or 1600 even.

Boot into windows:clik on computer/management,then disc management see whats on your ssd. should be a 100mb sys reserved partition and then the rest of your ssd capacity.

Then open computer , clik on the ssd clik on properties , clik on disc cleanup

Remove all the temp files and sys error files (unless u plan to send reports to MS).

    Then back out to desktop.
Run dxdiag from the program start menu ,let it check for errors.

Run msched from the start menu.(edit(just type memory and hit enter ,its only a basic test) schedule a memory check for the next time you restart the pc..reboot,
    Let it check the memory.

    Then back into windows ;

reinstall the latest non beta nvidia drivers(285.62, I think) using the advanced installation option and make sure to check the box for a clean install.

You could then set the display to basic mode and remove the aero display to give everything the best chance of working.

Then go ahead n test it out.things like furmark, the gx testers arent really using it anymore, too much strain on the card and if you dont have a temp probe to the card especially around the vrm modules you cant tell if theyre getting hotter than the gpu.

Something like occt psu test will run intel burn and a furry benchmark at the same time but it really tests the components to the limit and isnt "real life"

I cant think of anything else atm on the basic , it should work options.

The black screens you get and sometimes it will boot loop and sometimes stays black.

I would get something like that for a "freeze" but it will go to a screen once you have done 3 full power offs(not reset) depending on whether you have the post attempts set to 3 in the uefi.
You should get some writing saying the system will attempt to boot again unless you go to Uefi to adjust settings and presumably would attempt 3 times again.

The Uefi access display screen time I would set to at least 5 seconds as the standard 1 sec is too short.

    ------
Other things like bios setting changes ,such as what wazza suggests for some problems, increasing the VTT to around 1.1v you could leave until youd tried everything else, maybe you would need that for matching the 2133 memory the cpu and the 560.

    edit : Oh and Prof J's ^.

edit 2:What I mentioned about underclocking the memory. You could even just clock into the boards 1333mhz ddr3 setting. I know u dont want to run it that low but ,wont hurt just for testing.
