I'm looking at getting an external RAID-5 enclosure to connect to my ASRock P67 Extreme4, and as eSATA enclosures are far more common than USB 3.0 enclosures at the moment, I was thinking of going that way. However, my friend mentioned to me that in order to use an external eSATA RAID I require an eSATA port capable of port-multiplication.

As I can't find any reference as to whether the P67 Extreme4's eSATA ports handle port-multiplication, can anyone answer whether or not they do?

If not, what would be a good (preferably inexpensive) eSATA controller that has such a capability?
