Default Ivy Bridge upgrade for ASRock 3d Vision 252B

Hi, Does the ASRock 3d Vision 252B support any of the new Ivy Bridge chips- in particular the i-7 versions.
Secondly, is it worth the upgrade- bang for bucks?

    Thanks in advance

At this time that system does not have support for Ivy bridge cpus, not to say it wont work but it would need a bios/uefi update. There currently are no bios/uefi updates available. Your best bet would be to contact ASrock directly by email and see if they have any plans to add support for Ivy bridge cpus.

Thanks for the reply Emily-with the new VisionX coming out this year, would we be able to use the bios from that for the ASRock 3d Vision 252B? Sorry if silly question!
More general question to the community- if it could be upgraded, would upgrading the ASRock 3d Vision 252B from an i2520 sandy bridge to an i7 ivy bridge make any noticable difference in general performance. Would it be worth the $?
    Thanks
