970 Extreme4 RAID 0 Performance

Just got windows 7 installed properly and RAID 0 setup with two Crucial m4 256gb.

Problem I'm having is getting the read speeds i should be getting. Write speeds seem to be fine though.

Read speeds are 550 MB/s. Write speeds are 450 MB/s.

Both drives have the latest firmware 000f.

Not sure if its the problem with the board i have or not.

I know AMD has a terrible implementation of AHCI. I get about 30% lower score than my Intel chipsets.

Also, manufacturers use the ATTO benchmark for tests. Try it and see if it improves.

So your saying it probably has to do with the limitations of my motherboard?

I'm still very new to RAID and learning all the terminology as i go. Just hope that i set up my RAID correctly too. Followed ASrock's instructions on how to set up RAID to the tee.

It's hard say what the problem is. Did you use the latest drivers from AMD? Did you try the raidxpert?

Maybe try one drive in AHCI mode and comparte results.
