Default Problem with hard drive connection Z75 Pro 3

I am not 100% sure what the actual issue is, but just built my brother his computer with a ASRock Z75 Pro 3 and Intel i5 2500k processor. I wanted to use his hard drive from his old computer but everytime I turn it on the windows xp screen shows for a few seconds then blue screens. I then though maybe ill just attempt to reformat and re-install windows, once i get in the install it says no hard drive detected. In the bios it shows my hard drive with the system viewer, so it does recognize there is a hard drive. Also its nothing to do with the hard drive itself or the cord, i tried 5 different hdds and different cords etc. Is there maybe something wrong with the mobo or any advise would be greatly appreciated!

    All parts:
    MOBO Newegg.com - ASRock Z75 Pro3 LGA 1155 Intel Z75 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
    CPU Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 3000 BX80623I52500K
GPU Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-N550D5-1GI GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
    PSU Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER GX 450W RS450-ACAAD3-US 450W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
    RAM Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9S-4GBRL

Stock heat sink on cpu, i could list a hdd but i have tried a couple old hdds and a few ssds not sure if that matters.

    edit
Is there any other information that would be helpful, i have tried his hdd that has win xp and the ssd from my system that has win 7 both same blue screen a few seconds after windows logo.

Ok, RMA it. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something on my end.
