    can you only use the extra SAS ports for storage use ? HDDs/SSDs ?

    According to the manual, yes you can use the LSI RAID chipset for booting an OS.

    First, you must enable the LSI controller in the UEFI, and enable the LSI OROM to enable booting. You will definitely need to load the LSI driver during the OS installation, or it will fail.
