    Default ASRock A780GXH memory frequency problem

    I want to overclock my Athlon II x3 435 from 3.4 - 3.5GHz. RAM is DDR2 800Hz.
    On 3.5GHz, setup is unstable. I suspect memory freq. is too high.
    My problem is I can't lower RAM freq. without lowering FSB. Choosing 333Hz (DDR2 667) in BIOS has no effect.

    Any suggestion?
    Thanks. :)

    Welcome to the forum.

    What is the brand and model name of your memory? How many modules? What is the size of each memory module?
    What timing specs are you using with your memory?

    The information in your PC Specs is minimal.
    We can best help you when you include detailed information about all of your hardware.

    Thanks for the welcoming. :)

    It's 1x2GB Kingmax + 1x1GB Kingston.
    Today I realized the problem was "Flexibility option" enabled. When this option is enabled it keeps memory clock on auto. Even if i choose different option in "memory clock".
    When i disable "flexibility option", memory clock options works and whatever value i choose it stays fixed.
    But when flexibility option is disabled, my OC-ed (3.4GB) is unstable. When enabled its fine.
    I guess it's memory modules conflict problem. :)

    Default memory timings:

    Kingmax (400MHz)
    CAS = 5
    RAS to CAS = 5
    RAS Precharge = 5
    tRAS = 18
    tRC = 23

    Kingston (400MHz)
    CAS = 6
    RAS to CAS = 6
    RAS Precharge = 6
    tRAS = 18
    tRC = 24

    Currently my custom setup is:
    CAS = 6
    RAS to CAS = 6
    RAS Precharge = 6
    tRAS = 18
    tRC = 24
    Memory bus runs at 235MHz.

    Did you ever do any extended stress testing with your "stable" setup?
    If yes, which stress testing programs did you run and for how long?

    You will need to wait for a forum member who is familiar with AMD overclocking to help you.
    I was trying to speed things up by getting some initial information.

    Things will go a lot quicker if you spend 5 - 10 minutes and create a detailed hardware list in the PC Specs and include brand names and model numbers.

    With the minimal information you've provided, it's like calling a doctor's office and asking "Hey doc, I've got a terrible headache, what's wrong?
