Default Asrock Z77 Extreme4-m Crazy bios Clock issue

Had an issue with windows 8 where the bios clock would seem to loose time and behave oddly, loosing time randomly it seemed sometimes being 15 min behind sometimes 2 hrs then using the internet time to synchronize started to not work at all as if the bios clock had stopped altogether.

When I went back to win 7 the problem persisted until I pulled the battery then everything was running fine for over 2 weeks, solid as a rock. I have been running win 7 on this system for months and never experienced any issues at all.

I could not believe it so re-installed windows 8 ran fine for about 3 days then the issue started again, went back to win 7 pulled the battery everything once again ran fine for over a week no problems. Now I have installed win 8 again due to the official release AND downgraded to bios version 2.00 as I read on another site someone else having the same problem after going over this version.

If it starts to happen again I will post here again, seems to be a bios issue issue from the other info hopefully now win 8 is released more users will have the Asrock "Crazy Clock"
and it will be fixed. awesome solid motherboard besides this issue.

No I'm not overclocking and yes I have changed the bios battery on this new board, I've ran prime 95 and fur mark for hrs to ensure stability it's solid.
Been running windows 8 now on bios version 2.00 for about 6 hrs solid no problems so far....

Any one else had this strange problem with windows 8 and a Asrock Z77 Extreme4-m bios clock?

hi, I got exactly the same Problem as you, so it seems to be a mix between the AS Rock Board and Windows 8. Can you please tell me, if it works with the Driver 2.00? With 2.00 you mean 1.20, right? I already made a Bios update to 1.40, which didn't work at all - same Problems as you described. But I'm not Aware of, which bios-Version i had before sadley... bios Drivers

well, I took out the battery and replaced it - now it's working fine again, since one day and the Bios-Version 1.40. Hope it keeps running correctly.
