Default FM2A85X Extreme6 ------Are most nvidia graphics cards compatible??

Read somewhere that some ppl were having trouble installing certain discreet graphics cards. Is there a limited number of cards compatible like amd only, or is nvidia compatible. I have the AMD A10-5800K processor.

To clarify, because I see you added your A10-5000K:

You're asking about disabling the graphics side of the A10 and installing a completely separate video card, correct? ie: not tying the apu and add-on card together
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.
____If you are overclocking, underclocking, or undervolting any parts, informing us of this and their values would prove beneficial in helping you.

#2 - Consider your PSU to be the foundation from which all else is built upon. Anything built upon a weak foundation is poorly built.

I too - have the very same Mobo and APU and so far in my research of it and reading VIRU MVP software that we got with it - - - the answer should be a BIG YES, although I have not done it. The Virtu MVP software leads one to believe that with it you can set it to run just the on board 7660D or it and a discrete card together [no mention of only AMD/ATI] or just the Discrete car alone. I plan to eventually, fairly soon, add a Discrete Graphics Card too but I like ATI/AMD and will probably go with an HD 7850.

Best of LUCK - have FUN! michael
