Default ASRock VisionX 321B - Graphics card problem?

    Hello.

I have real problems with my new computer ASRock VisionX 321B (a real beauty).
But, I put an SSD disc in it and installed Win8 pro.

After installing these graphics drivers I ran into problem.
    9/24/2012 WindowsŪ 8 64bit 214.41MB ATI Display Driver ver:12.8

I noticed that antoher guy, also in Sweden ran into the same problem in Win7 64.

When I watch movies XBMC, and VLC the computer randomly freezes. In my case the picture gets pink with lines and sometimes the sound continues.
Can't start task manager or anything. Only way is to reboot via the start button on the computer!

The other guy got this answer from ASRock support:
"Please remove the adapter and short the clear COMS jumper and load BIOS default."

He tried that and reinstalled the latest ASRock drivers. Same problem.
Yesterday I installed the Win8 on the original HDD.
Now, I run my computer with Win8 default graphics drivers.

Anyone else with the same problem?

    The card: AMD Radeon™ HD7850M

I have the same system as you, but running win7 64-bit, with the same freeze issue. In my case, the freezes were occurring about every 2-5 days, sometimes multiple times in a day depending on the video driver I was running (phase of moon, temp, etc...). After sending in for RMA, ASRock replaced the motherboard and sent it back to me. Since I got it back on 12/23/2012, I have frozen it 3 or 4 times and had another RMA issued, but have not sent it back in yet.

I noticed they just posted a 12.11 beta driver on the ASRock website. I may give that one a try.

Any progress on your end ?

Two guys in a swedish forum tried the beta driver.
One had it for a week now and he hasn't got any errors, yet.
The other was going to RMA but unpacked it yesterday. Installed 12.11 and has tried the Beta driver with XBMC and visual Effects with no error.

He also got a message from Catalyst?:
"Just a heads up - we will be posting logo certified Catalyst 13.1 on Wednesday. You can also expect new beta drivers in the next few weeks"

    I haven't tried this yet.

The 12.11 beta driver fixed the system crashes. I've been testing it with a fresh windows install for one week now. There is some slight choppiness at times while streaming, but it is much improved from the 12.8 driver.

Looking forward to trying the 13.1 driver.

    Hi.

Tested with 13.1 and no crashes for 3 days :-).

Now, i will put a SSD for OS, and it will be PERFECT :P. Anyone have done this? Any recommendations for SSD?

    Regards.

I've been running 13.1 for about 4 days now. While streaming Hulu on IE, there is still some micro-stuttering during the videos, but when switching to ads, there are frequent pauses in the sound and video. One time there was pixelation and sound corruption, with recovery after a couple-second pause. When the stream returns from commercial to the main video, the playback is normal, but still with some slight stuttering at times. It seems like there has been a slight improvement in the micro-stuttering, but the pauses during commercial playback are very irritating.
