    OK Guys,
I went through the confounded ritual again. Rear 2.0 ports (whic I did from the first)
Every thing unplugged including the non-swystem drive & network cable
    System partition formated.
    NEW SATA cable.
    My ACHI settings were OK

Same difference. Dr. Debug scrolled up to 99 & then gave me a CF.
I do believe the board is doing a soft shut down a second or two before Windows shuts down, preventing the completion of an install and in fact preventing a normal Win shutdown consistantly.
To add to that the chipset seems not to initialize properly and then everything just sits there in limbo with no monitor display of anything.

It still seems like a bad board to me.

I was kind of expecting bad RAM just because there seems to be a bad lot of Gskill out there recently, but I don't think so.

    Got anything for me???

    THANKS!

    ^^

Do you have a standard no frills PS/2 keyboard with which to try with?

#3 - Please use the eXtreme Outer Vision Power Supply Calculator found HERE to determine if it might be your PSU at issue.

I do and I'll try it, but I haave to wonder weather a board requiring such an extraodinary amount of effort is anything other than a pretty doorstop.

Well I give up on this board.
It continues to reset before Win can install.n It's not a restart or a crash. It's more like a wacky chipset reinitialization that fails.

Going back to NewEgg. I'm hoping that they can do batter than the 2 weeks it took me to get the RAM.

    Thanks for your advise.
