    Default Cannot find I/O backplate

I have searched ebay, contacted ASrock customer support (by email and by phone), and looked everywhere but cannot find an I/O backplate shield for an ASRock AM2NF6-VSTA motherboard. I never received a response to my emails from ASRock. On the phone, they took my numbers and said they would get back to me and would look for one, but I never got a return phone call.

Ebay has every kind of backshield available, but none for this motherboard. I even looked at all of the persons selling th motherboard itself on ebay and not a single one professes to include the backplate in the deal.

I have never made a backplate before, but thought about cutting one out myself. However, to do this, you really need a template, Since the shield goes inside the case, before the motherboard is installed, trying to cut one and pulling the motherboard in and out to test the fit is just too much of a hassle and also with my luck, would cause something to break on the board. If anyone knows how to find a template, I would appreciate that as well.

If I can't find one, I guess I will just have to discard the board. Lesson learned. Should have made sure the backplate was part of the deal when I bought it. Trying to fix up a computer for grandkid on the cheap and keep the AM2 socket CPU and DDR2 memory. Never thought I would not be able to find a simple backplate.

Thanks for any help you can give.

You could make your own template by taking a photo of the back of the computer case with the motherboard mounted in the case.
The photo should include a ruler that is lined up with the opening of the case above or below the back panel.
You can resize the photo so that a printed copy will be full sized.

Is there a local PC recycle shop near you that sells used parts?
They might have a large plastic tub full of miscellaneous I/O shields.
Obviously you would need to bring the motherboard with you.
It's possible that some other motherboard models used an identical I/O shield.

    Good luck!

Having purchased many pieces parts from 3BTech over the years I'll vouch for the company being reputable and reliable. They ship fast too and packaging was acceptable.

$29.95 Shipped Free - AM2NF6-VSTA (Refurb) - Bulk packaged item, no accessories included. I/O shield backplate is included.
ASRock AM2NF6-VSTA Socket AM2 Mainboard w/ DDR2 800/667/533, nVidia Video, PCI Express, SATA 300 RAIDľ Refurbished

Meh, it's an option for you anyways.
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.
____If you are overclocking, underclocking, or undervolting any parts, informing us of this and their values would prove beneficial in helping you.

#2 - Consider your PSU to be the foundation from which all else is built upon. Anything built upon a weak foundation is poorly built.
