Whether using RAID0 or single drives a backup is always a good idea.

I don't think it's a case of double the chance of losing your data with 2 drives in RAID0 but losing more data than if drives were separate. If one drive fails you still need to have a backup of it when using them as separate drives, right? If using separate drives, is your plan to backup data from one drive to the other? Then would RAID1, which at least with Intel RST will give faster reads (don't know about AMD), be beneficial?
