Oh no... why aren't we looking at this closer...

BTW, what he posted there are the specs for his board...

"x16 mode" means there are 16 PCIe lanes for transferring data/signals between the mother board and video card. That is what the card needs to work at its best performance.

"x4 mode" means there are only 4 PCIe lanes for transferring data/signals between the mother board and video card. Which means less performance. The PCIe slot may have 16 connections, but only 4 of them are connected/working.

Those are the single card specs for you board. If you had two independent cards, the one in slot PCIe1 would run at x16 and the one in slot PCIe3 would run at x4.

This matters for SLI or Crossfire.

Some mother boards with a Z77 chipset will run in single mode, x16 and x8, when running SLI or Crossfire, will run in x8/x8 mode. No specification like that for your board.

So gamer's out there, what do you think his result will be, if it even works in SLI: x16 and x4? Or x8 and x4? Or x4 and x4?

16x/4x less then a ten percent drop over a 16x/16x. But SLI probably won't enable.

Thanks for all the support guys. Just got my SLI-bridge and it didn't work as expected. So i downloaded HyperSLI and it worked! I could now enable SLI in Nvidia Control Panel.

After testing Ungine Heaven I got better numbers than my OC single 670. BUT, bad "lightning" on the screen. Espacially when you look at the sky.

So I started Far Cry 3 and there it was even worse. In the menus the graphic was very bad. Nice FPS tho.

Is this a common issue? Can I solve it?

    /Sorry for my english

The HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards) - techPowerUp! Forums thread was started in October 2011. The thread now has 72 pages. I looked at some of the most recent posts and there appear to be issues with some Nvidia driver versions or problems with some SLI bridge connections.

You can probably find a solution if you join their forum and post details about your hardware, SLI settings, Nvidia Driver version, and include information about your HyperSLI installation and operating mode.

Did you try using different screen resolutions to see if screen display is any better?
Let us know if you are able to solve the problems.

Works brilliant now! HyperSLI and some twitching on the SLI-bridge did the trick.

    Thanks for all the help!

Please, i am a Newbie and got 2 Nvidia GTX480 for an Fatality Z77 Performance Mainboard.
What have you done, that the two cards are now running?
And can you send a pic from the bridging of the cards?

Using HyperSLI, I am able to run both of my N460GTX cards in SLI on my P35-DS4 motherboard.
With both of my video cards installed and connected with my SLI bridge, I installed HyperSLI and rebooted my system.
Installing HyperSLI requires you to boot using the newly created HyperSLI boot option.
If I remove one of the video cards, I then boot using the normal win7 boot option.
This setup couldn't be much easier unless you have a motherboard that natively supports SLI.

Go to the HyperSLI link in post #14 and read some of the posts near the end of that thread.
The thread should answer most or all of your questions.

There is nothing magical about installing the SLI bridge to connect both video cards, just be sure that each of the bridge's connectors are fully seated on each of your video cards. From post #14:
The thread now has 72 pages. I looked at some of the most recent posts and there appear to be issues with some Nvidia driver versions or problems with some SLI bridge connections.
I didn't see your post one week ago, but I can help you now, as soon as you get familiar with the HyperSLI thread in the TechPowerUp forum. I've got to out now, but I'll be back in the forum in about 8 - 10 hours.
