I need help, because bought new GTX 650Ti Boost MSI. This card not started on this mobo in slot PCIe2, PCIe3(this slots working in standard PCIe 3.0[ speed x16]). This card running in slot PCIe4(speed x4) started and working normally, but speed is slowly than PCIe2 or PCIe3.
This problem it was to in Radeon 7850, this card running only PCIe4. Where is problem? BIOS? I have new BIOS P 1.40.
On Radeon 5770 or 5450 working normally in everyone slots, but 5770 or 5450 working in PCIe 2.1 standard.
BTW I know, 2500K not support PCIE3.0, but this card must working in everyone slots on this mobo in speed x16 with PCIE2.1
    My PC:
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K not overclocked.
    RAM: GoodRAM 8GB(2x4GB) 1333Mhz CL9

From the ASRock online specifications web page:
    • - 2 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (PCIE2/PCIE3: single at x16 (PCIE2) / x8 (PCIE3) or dual at x8/x8 mode)
    • - 1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot (PCIE4 @ x4 mode)

Does your 7850 video card work in the PCIE2 and PCIE3 slots?
Did you try using the other pcie power cable on your power supply?
Did you remove the Radeon drivers from your system and then run Driver Sweeper?

profJim Radeon 7850/GTX 650Ti BOOST not working in slot PCIE2 or PCIE3 only work in PCIE4(PCIE 2.0 x4).
Why this cards not working in slots PCIE2 and PCIE3(this slots speed is x16 or x8, more fast than x4)? Maybe CPU? I5 2500K, supported PCIE 2.0 - ok, but this graphic card must working in everyone slots in speed x16 PCIE 2.0(backward compatibility).
    I try change in BIOS NB(north bridge) set GEN2( standard PCIE 2.0) - not working, GEN1(PCIE 1.1) - not working for PCIE2 and PCIE3.

"Did you try using the other pcie power cable on your power supply?"
Yes, try on other cable - not work.
"Did you remove the Radeon drivers from your system and then run Driver Sweeper?"
Yes, but drivers loading from windows, so my problem is before POST. My display not running.

There have been many threads in the ASRock forum where video cards were not recognized in the pcie 3.0 slots.
In some cases a new motherboard bios fixed the problem and sometimes the video card was at fault.

Send a private message (PM) to ASRock TSD - Emily, include a link to this thread, and ask her to reply in your thread.
Can you test your video card in another system to verify that it is OK?
It sounds like your video card is OK because it works in the PCIE4 x4 slot in your motherboard.

Do you have the same problem with your HD 7850 not working in the PCIE2 and PCIE3 slots?
What is the brand name and model number of your HD 7850?
Your power supply should be OK, but it will help if you can test with a different, good quality power supply.

Video card performance should be identical in the x16 and x8 slots, but the x4 slot will have lower performance.

Don't just wait for a new bios, Emily might be able to send you a beta bios for testing to see if it fixes the problem.
