Default Updated bios to 2.80 z77 extreme 4 but..

Hi guys,I have updated my bios to 2.80 everything is fine. but my splash screen has changed to a different one. before it was the 555 xfast screen now its just a boring asrock logo in the middle of the screen. was it supposed to change? as I don't see why they needed to do this change. I liked the old splash screen image. is it possible to change this to the old screen?

Yes, ASRock changed the splash screen before 2.80, it has been like that since about UEFI version 2.10 or 2.20. That may be related to Windows 8 fast boot support, needing more room in the UEFI/BIOS storage memory (for an additional Option ROM for UEFI booting, and/or the RAID configuration utility in the UEFI), or simply not wanted/needed, as fast booting is the priority. IMO, well worth the tradeoff.

Change it back? Only by going back to an earlier UEFI version, if possible.

I've noticed the removal of the gaudy splash screens with new bios versions on all the Asrock boards we've been using. Most recently the H77 Pro4/MVP. Just a green Asrock logo after updating. Personally, I prefer it. Saves me from going into the bios and disabling it.

    Now that would be nice
A reserved space in BIOS like 500kb limit for example or maybe less and one program to upload any image we want

Custom images are possible wth some brands of Motherboard.. Not sure if it was the ASU Z77 V pro or the MSI H61 that had that option though. Never tried it either since i prefer to see the boot up process although nowadays with an SSD its "Don't Blink your Eyes" booting now a days.
