Hi all,

I'm really frustrated ...

In fact, I buy the X79 to made a RAID server ...

From the specs, we can read =>
- 2 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s connectors by Intel® X79, support RAID (RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 10 and Intel® Rapid Storage 3.0), NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plug functions

- 4 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s connectors by Marvell SE9172, support RAID (RAID 0 and RAID 1), NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plug functions

So 6 SATA3 connectors ..
But ..

I don't understand why having 2 x SATA3 connectors for a RAID 5 ??
and 4 x SATA3 for max a RAID 1 ?

RAID 5 is minimum 3 disks ... so, how to connect 3 or 4 disk, or more disk .. with only 2 connectors ? (in SATA3)

The 4 others connectors are SATA2

Where is the problem ?

Regards for any advice ..
