    Default AsRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Ethernet problem

    Hey guy,

I currently have a problem with my ethernet port, I installed all the drivers from the CD my mobo came with, I downloaded the drivers from the AsRock website and tried it from that direction, I even went to the Broadcom website for my LAN chipset and installed those but nothing is working. The driver shows up in my Device manager, and on the adapter settings but no matter what I do I can't seem to get any cable to work. I've used different cables plugging them into my laptop or ps3 first then into my PC but nothing here is the list of my specs

    Motherboard :

    Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Motherboard Socket 1155 (Intel Z68, DDR3 memory, USB 3.0)

I had the same issue recently with a Gigabyte board, also a Z68 board. After trying everything under the sun, I finally returned it to Gigabyte for repair.

I'm wondering if the boards share the same Ethernet part and this is a trend?

I assume you are using that wireless USB adapter because you cannot get the Broadcom NIC to work? Or have you always had both of them installed?

Are you using the XFast LAN software? If so, uninstall that and reboot, and try again.

Given your IB CPU on a SB chipset board, I assume you have BIOS 2.10 or greater installed? Also the correct version of the Intel IME software?

If you don't have BIOS 2.10 installed, be careful and follow instructions that appear when you click the BIOS download file.
