    Default A-Tuning System Browser Problems

I just noticed two problems with the System Browser feature in A-Tuning 1.0.36, for the Z87 Extreme 6 mother board.

First, System Browser in unable to recognize RAID 0 arrays, and only detects the first drive of the volume:

The IRST UI shows that all six of the Intel SATA ports have drives connected, while System Browser shows three. The drive in SATA port 1, which is not shown in System Browser, is the second drive of that two drive RAID 0 volume on ports 0 and 1. The two drives in SATA ports 4 and 5 are also not shown in System Browser, which again only shows the first drive of this three drive RAID 0 volume.

To be fair, correctly detecting RAID arrays can be difficult for a program, and requires a more intimate knowledge of the RAID interface and code that can deal with it. Obviously Intel does not have a problem with that.

This is really an FYI for users of the System Browser in A-Tuning, don't get worried if you can't see your RAID volumes. They are fine, just not displayed appropriately. The detail information that is displayed when the mouse pointer hovers over the first drive of the RAID volume is also wrong, showing 0GB as the capacity.

System Browser in the UEFI does not have this problem. Although it does not recognize RAID volumes, it does show all the drives connected to the Intel SATA ports.

Oops, forgot how to attach more than one picture per post, the file upload interface does not let me attach two files in one post but I think it can be done somehow... continuing in this thread...

The second A-Tuning System Browser problem is the network ports, when the two networking chips are combined into a team:

    A-Tuning System Browser Problems-atuning-team-jpg

The System Browser display shows nothing is connected to the RJ45 port on the left in the picture, which is the one on top (I217V) with the board mounted in a case. The blue and read icon in the port on the right indicates a cable is connected.

But you can see in the Device Manager Properties of the team I created with the two network chips on the Z87 Extreme 6 board, that both chips are Active, meaning connected to a cable and operating. I'm using LAN driver 18.2.63.0 from this board's download page.

So the advertised capability of this board to team the two network chips works fine, but you cannot determine that with System Browser in A-Tuning.

BTW, the video output ports for the on-board video don't seem to detect being connected to a monitor. Hovering the mouse pointer over the DVI-I, Display Port, etc, outputs just displays the name of the port, not if it is connected to a monitor, even while the port is in use and the monitor is on. Is this what other users are getting on their systems?

You can only include one image from your computer per post.
This is a sample of an image uploaded from my computer:

You can include many different images in one post when you use the Insert Image option and paste the web address of each picture, one at a time.

This is a sample of an image from my DropBox account using Insert Image and pasting the image's web address:

note: Images in Private messages can't be uploaded from your computer, you need to use the Insert Image function to paste the web address of the picture.
